Lamar teen killed in rollover crash, 16-year-old girl flown to Mercy Springfield with critical injuries

A Lamar teen was killed and two people injured in a one-vehicle crash 1:45 a.m. today on Route V, 10 miles northwest of Lamar.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Benjamin L. Harrington, 18, Lamar, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a bluff and overturned.

Harrington was pronounced dead at the scene by Barton County Coroner Sarah Rutledge at 1:52 a.m.







A passenger, a 16-year-old Lamar girl was flown to Mercy Springfield to be treated for serious injuries.

Another passenger, a 16-year-old boy was treated for minor injuries.

The fatality was the 101st this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
