A Fairview man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Thursday on Teal Drive two miles south of Stark City.
According to the Highway Patrol report, Douglas L. Reed, 56, Fairview, driving a 1984 John Deere 650 tractor was mowing the right of way on Teal Drive. As it traveled up an embankment, the tractor overturned.
Newton County Coroner Dale Owen pronounced Reed dead at 1:51 p.m. The time the accident occurred is unknown.
The fatality is the 99th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
