(From the Jasper County Sheriff's Office) On 9-8-2025 at approximately 8:56 AM, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office deputies were notified of a stolen vehicle being pursued from Crawford County Kansas into Jasper and Barton County in Missouri.
Jasper County deputies began checking the area near the Barton County line and assisted Barton County deputies that were pursuing the stolen vehicle. The suspect was crossing back into Barton and Jasper County during the pursuit.
Law enforcement agencies, including Missouri Highway Patrol and Jasper Police Department, began setting up a perimeter and putting out tire deflating devices to end the pursuit, the suspect vehicle struck the tire deflating devices but continued to flee.
The suspect vehicle began slowing near CR210 and Tranquil Road and a Crawford County deputy used the tactical vehicle intervention maneuver to safely stop the suspect vehicle.
The suspect was taken into custody. The suspect was identified as Tyler A Ritz, 31, of Pittsburg Kansas. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Cherokee County Kansas.
Charges are being sent to the prosecutor in Jasper County for Resisting Arrest and several traffic violations to include Valentine’s law. Other charges from other jurisdictions in Kansas and Missouri may be pursued as the investigation continues. No one was injured during the course of this pursuit.
