Lunch and scavenger hunt offered at Kids Day at McClelland Park

(From the City of Joplin)

Children and their families can enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise and reconnect with nature during a fun event hosted by the Joplin Parks and Recreation Department. “Kid’s Day at McClelland Park” will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17 at McClelland Park. The event is in conjunction with the National Park Trust’s 4th Annual Kids to Park Day program.
Families are welcome to a free lunch of hotdogs and chips, and then children can join the Alphabet Scavenger Hunt at 12 noon. During this unique hunt, children, ages three to twelve, will search throughout the park to collect items that start with each letter of the alphabet and present them to the Park staff. If children have an item for each letter, they will receive a one-day pool pass to any of the three Joplin aquatic centers and a bag of goodies.
