Joplin Fire Chief accepts Temple, Texas position

Joplin Fire Chief Mitch Randles, who helped guide this community through the dark times following the May 22, 2011, tornado, is leaving Joplin to take a position in Temple, Texas. Randles posted the following message on his Facebook page:

It is with bittersweet feelings that I announce have accepted the Fire chief's position in Temple Texas and my retirement from the Joplin Fire Department. My last day with Joplin will be August 1st. Susan, Sabrina and I will be moving to Texas over the summer, Kevin is staying here and finishing his degree at Pitt State. We are plan to be back in town on a regular basis to visit with Kevin and family.
