A Stella teen was killed in a one-car accident 10:34 a.m. Thursday on HH Highway, two miles west of Neosho.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Juliana P. Ewing, 19, Stella, traveled off the right half side of the roadway, overcorrected, struck an embankment, and overturned.
Ms. Ewing, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Newton County Coroner Mark Bridges.
The fatality was the 39th this year for Troop D.
