MSSU business students recognized during annual banquet

Students from Missouri Southern State University’s Robert W. Plaster School of Business were honored for their academic achievements during the annual awards banquet held May 1.

“Through these significant achievements we reinforce a culture of excellence that helps more firmly establish the Robert W. Plaster School of Business as a premier place of learning, and as an important engine for economic and social growth in the State of Missouri and the entire Four-State region,” said Dr. John Groesbeck, dean of the School of Business.

During the banquet, the following students were honored with the Outstanding Student Award:

Finance: Lance J. Gooder, Pineville

General Business: Rebecca Moore, Joplin; Steven Tuggle, Webb City

Accounting: Mallory Fuller, Joplin; Lindsay Kubicek, Joplin; and Jennifer R. Lee, Carthage

Business Education: Whitney Triplett, Carthage

International Business: Debbie S. Williams, Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Whitney Koch, Marketing – Webb City

Management: Tricia Coleman, Carthage; and Tiffany Elliot, Jane

Human Resources Management: Saanika Prabhu, Rogers, Ark.; and Hailey Aguinaga, Carthage

Accounting scholarships were received by Sarah Pekarek, Jade Jensen and Raycee Thompson, all of Joplin; Cheyenne Hatfield, Carl Junction; Taylor McDaniel, Seneca; Katie Elizabeth Miller and Paige Melaven, Webb City; Ethan Schwab, Fort Scott, Kan.; and Jessica Jarvis, Wyandotte, Okla.

Recognized as Major Field Test winners were Andrea Roach (99th percentile), Springfield; Matthew Middleton (75th percentile), Joplin; Ashten Edwards (75th percentile), Broken Arrow, Okla.; Nicholas Winnie (50th percentile), Joplin; and Adam Wall (50th percentile), Neosho.

During the banquet, students were also recognized for being inducted into Delta Mu Delta, the national business honor society. The highest national recognition a business student can earn, its purpose is to promote higher scholarship in training for business and to recognize and reward scholastic attainment in business subjects.
