Man charged with DWI following accident near Joplin

A Galena, Kansas, man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following an accident 1:50 p.m. Friday on MO 66, three miles west of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Toyota Scion driven by Harley D. Schmohe, 33, Galena, crossed the median and oveturned.

A passenger in the Schmohe vehicle, Shirley M. Morris, 59, was treated at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, for minor injuries.

In addition to DWI, Schome was charged with driving while suspended, failure to drive on the right side of the road,  no insurance, and no seat belt.
