(From the Joplin Police Department)
On Saturday, September 6, 2014 at approximately 1:56PM, officers with the Joplin Police
Department were sent to 201 North Wall Apartment #1 for a deceased male. The male has been identified as 71 year old David L. McKibben of Joplin.
An autopsy was completed on Mr. McKibben on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Frontier Forensics in Kansas City. As a result of findings from the autopsy, the death is being investigated as a homicide at this time.
The Joplin Police Department’s Investigation’s Bureau continues to follow up on leads at this time.
No arrests have been made at this time. No other details on the homicide investigation will be released at this time. We will update this release if further information develops.
