A Lamar man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 4:35 p.m. Friday on County Road 80 five miles southeast of Jasper.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Ford F150 driven by Thomas L. Rives, 26, Lamar, ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. Rives was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:30 p.m. by Jasper County Deputy Coroner Mark Weng.
The fatality was the 26th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
Just to make a correction to this so people aren't confused on what he was driving. He was in a FL50 service truck, it wasn't a F150.
