ON 3-6-2015 THE BARTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TOOK A REPORT OF IDENTITY THEFT. THE REPORTING PARTY ADVISED THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL THAT STATED THEY OWED THE STATE OF MISSOURI MONEY AND NEEDED TO PAY IT. THE PAPER WORK THEY RECEIVED SHOWED NAMES OF INDIVIDUALS THE VICTIM DID NOT KNOW BUT HAD THERE SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS AND ADDRESS ON IT.
ON 03-06-2015 TIFFANY L. JOHNSON, AGE 31, OF NEVADA WAS TRANSPORTED FROM THE VERNON COUNTY JAIL TO BARTON COUNTY ON AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT. JOHNSON WAS SERVED HER WARRANT AND LATER PROCESSED INTO THE JAIL.
ON 3-06-2015 GARREL R. BOGART, AGE 61, OF NEVADA WAS TRANSPORTED FROM THE VERNON COUNTY JAIL TO THE BARTON COUNTY JAIL ON ACTIVE OUTSTANDING WARRANTS OUT OF BARTON COUNTY. THE WARRANTS WAS SERVED TO HIM AND HE WAS PROCESSED INTO THE JAIL.
ON 3-4-2015 CHRISTOPHER D. FURR, AGE 39, OF LAMAR WAS INCARCERATED AT THE BARTON COUNTY JAIL WHEN A WARRANT WAS ISSUED FROM THE COURT AND SENT TO THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE. A DEPUTY FROM THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SERVED HIM THE WARRANT.
ON 3-04-2015 THE BARTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED A COMPLAINT FROM MANAGEMENT AT LAMARTI’S. IT WAS TOLD THAT A CLERK HAD BEEN SCAMMED WHEN A SUBJECT HAD CALLED AND TALKED THE CLERK INTO ACCEPTING A COMDATA CHECK WHICH WAS FRAUDULENT. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
ON 3-03-2015 DEPUTIES WENT TO A RESIDENCE LOCATED AT 901 NORTHWEST 43RD LANE IN BARTON COUNTY ON A TIP OF A PERSON WHO WAS WANTED AND HAD AN ACTIVE WARRANT. MATTHEW C. FORD, AGE 39, OF JOPLIN WAS LOCATED AND ARRESTED ON A WARRANT OUT OF ST. CHARLES COUNTY FOR FAILURE TO APPEAR ON A NON-SUPPORT CASE. HE WAS TRANSPORTED BACK TO THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE.
ON 3-02-2015 A TRAILER FILLED WITH TOOLS WAS STOLEN FROM A WORKSITE ON NORTHEAST 30TH LANE AND 10TH ROAD. A SHORT TIME AFTER SENDING THE INFORMATION OUT TO SURROUNDING COUNTIES THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE VERNON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ADVISING THEY HAD RECOVERED THE TRAILER EMPTY IN THE BRONAUGH AREA. THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING.
ON 3-1-2015 A TRAFFIC STOP WAS CONDUCTED ON A TRUCK ON 17TH STREET IN FRONT OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN LAMAR. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WAS IDENTIFIED AS HIRAM C. RUTH, AGE 34, OF LAMAR. RUTH HAD A REVOKED DRIVERS LICENSE AND WAS ARRESTED FOR THAT CHARGE. DURING A SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE A STOLEN CHECK BOOK WAS FOUND IN THE TRUCK. REPORTS WILL BE SENT TO THE PROSECUTOR FOR CONSIDERATION OF FILING CRIMINAL CHARGES.
ON 2-27-2015 THE BARTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED A COMPLAINT ABOUT CHECKS WHICH WAS STOLEN FROM A HOME IN PITTSBURG AND WAS CASHED AT THE PITT STOP IN MINDENMINES. THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING.
ON 02-25-2015 A DEPUTY WITH THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE CONDUCTED A TRAFFIC STOP ON PARRY STREET IN LAMAR ON A S-10 TRUCK. THE DRIVER WAS LATER IDENTIFIED AS A JOSEPH E. VOLNER, AGE 30, OF LAMAR. WHEN DEPUTIES MADE CONTACT WITH VOLNER HE REFUSED TO LISTEN TO REQUEST ASKED OF HIM. THE SUBJECT HAD TO BE PHYSICALLY REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE SUBJECT WAS HANDCUFFED AND LATER FOUND HE HAD AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT OUT OF VERNON COUNTY. DURING A SEARCH OF HIS PERSON ITEMS COMMONLY USED IN THE USE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS WAS SEIZED FROM HIM. REPORTS WILL BE SENT TO THE PROSECUTOR FOR CONSIDERATION OF FILING OF CRIMINAL CHARGES.
ON 2-22-2015 A LOUD MUSIC COMPLAINT WAS REPORTED AT 178 SOUTHEAST 20TH ROAD. DEPUTIES RESPONDED AND THE REPORTING PARTY WANTED CRIMINAL CHARGES TO BE FILED ON THE SUBJECT DUE TO THE NUMBER OF OCCURRENCES THAT HAVE HAPPENED. A SUMMONS WAS ISSUED TO DAVID A. MCARTHUR, AGE 53, OF LAMAR FOR PEACE DISTURBANCE.
ON 2-21-2015 ADAM J. CROCKETT, AGE 27 WAS INCARCERATED IN JASPER COUNTY JAIL AND WAS TRANSPORTED BACK TO THE BARTON COUNTY JAIL WHERE HE WAS SERVED HIS WARRANT AND PROCESSED INTO OUR JAIL.
ON 2-20-2015 THE BARTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO A COMPLAINT OF A CELL PHONE BEING STOLEN FROM A RESIDENCE IN THE GOLDEN CITY AREA. DURING THE INVESTIGATION CHANCETON M. BROWN, AGE 21 OF LAMAR WAS ARRESTED DUE TO AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT. DURING THE INVESTIGATION BROWN WAS QUESTIONED ON THE THEFT OF THE PHONE. REPORTS WILL BE SENT TO THE PROSECUTOR FOR CONSIDERATION OF CHARGES TO BE FILED.
ON 2-25-2015 THE BARTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TOOK A COMPLAINT OF A BUILDING AT THE INTERSECTION OF J HIGHWAY AND SOUTHWEST 30TH ROAD BEING BROKEN INTO. IT WAS REPORTED THAT SOMETIME AROUND 3 A.M. SOMEBODY ENTERED THE BUILDING AND ITEMS WERE TAKEN FROM IT.
ON 2-25-2015 KADEN SPORTSMAN WHICH WAS INCARCERATED IN THE NEWTON COUNTY JAIL WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE BARTON COUNTY JAIL ON OUTSTANDING WARRANTS. THE WARRANTS WAS SERVED TO SPORTSMAN AND HE WAS PROCESSED INTO THE JAIL.
ON 2-20-2015 AN ASSAULT REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE GOLDEN CITY SCHOOL BETWEEN TWO JUVENILES. A REPORT WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE JUVENILE OFFICE.
ON 2-19-2015 DEPUTIES WITH THE BARTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDED TO CASEYS IN GOLDEN CITY ON AN ALLEGED SHOPLIFTING CASE. THE MANAGER AT CASEY’S ADVISED THAT A SUBJECT HAD STOLE A LOTTERY TICKET FROM THE BUSINESS AND LATER RETURNED THE LOTTERY TICKET DUE TO IT BEING A WINNING LOTTERY TICKET. THE DEPUTY WENT AND SPOKE TO THE PERSON OF INTEREST ABOUT THE ALLEGATIONS. A REPORT WILL BE WROTE UP AND SENT TO THE PROSECUTOR FOR FORMAL FILING OF CHARGES.
ON 2-19-2015 DEPUTIES WAS CALLED TO 40 NORTHEAST 1ST LANE APARTMENT #3 FOR A REPORT OF BURGLARY AND THEFT. DEPUTIES INVESTIGATED A THEFT OF A XBOX GAMING SYSTEM FROM AN APARTMENT. DURING THE INVESTIGATION A PERSON OF INTEREST WAS IDENTIFIED IN THE THEFT. DURING THE INVESTIGATION THE XBOX WAS LOCATED AT A HOME IN LAMAR AND THE SUSPECT HIRAM CHRISTOPHER RUTH, AGE 34, OF LAMAR WAS DETAINED. REPORTS WAS SENT TO THE PROSECUTOR FOR FILING OF FORMAL CRIMINAL CHARGES.
ON 2-17-2015 A REPORT OF IDENTITY THEFT WAS INVESTIGATED. A SUBJECT REPORTED THAT SOMEBODY HAD TURNED ON A UTILITY IN HIS NAME AT A RESIDENCE IN LAMAR AND HAD GENERATED A BILL WHICH NOW WAS IN COLLECTIONS. THE INVESTIGATION IN THIS CASE IS ONGOING.
ON 2-12-2015 A REPORT OF A WALLET STOLEN FROM AN EMPLOYEE AT A LOCAL BUSINESS ON SOUTHEAST 1ST LN WAS INVESTIGATED. DURING THE INVESTIGATION A SUBJECT SUSPECTED OF THE THEFT WAS LOCATED AND INTERVIEWED. THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING TO THE THEFT OF THE WALLET.
ON 2-12-2015 A REPORT OF FRAUD WAS INVESTIGATED AT THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE. IT WAS REPORTED THAT THE VICTIM HAD WROTE A CHECK TO A COMPANY FOR A PRODUCT AND THEN LATER FOUND OUT THAT DUPLICATE CHECKS WAS CREATED FROM THAT ONE CHECK. NUMEROUS ITEMS WAS PURCHASED WITH THE DUPLICATE CHECKS FROM BUSINESSES IN OTHER STATES. THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING.
ON 02-12-2015 THE BARTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED A COMPLAINT OF ITEMS MISSING FROM A HOME LOCATED AT 152 SOUTHEAST 50TH ROAD. THE REPORTING PARTY ADVISED THAT SHE BECAME AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WHEN SHE STARTED NOTICING HER BELONGINGS BEING MOVED AROUND. A REPORT WAS TAKEN AND THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING. ITEMS REPORTED MISSING FROM THE PROPERTY WAS MOSTLY ELECTRONICS.
