Vacant house fire extinguished at 1810 S. Joplin

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1810 S Joplin, at 4:43 PM Thursday, 16 April, 2015. 

Fire crews arrived on the scene at 4:50 PM to find a fully involved detached garage at the rear of the house. The garage was showing heavy smoke and flame. Crews extinguished the garage fire and protected a neighboring garage from igniting due to radian heat. 

Ownership information is unavailable at this time. The house was abandoned and had no utilities hooked up.

No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. 4 Joplin Fire units and 15 Joplin Fire personnel responded as well as JPD and METS.
The cause of the fire was ruled incendiary by the Fire Marshal.
