A Carthage teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident 12:50 p.m. Sunday on County Road 2110, four miles west of Mt. Vernon.
According to the Highway Patrol report, Willy E. Perez, 16, Carthage, lost control on a curve, ran off the road, struck a tree, and then ran into Spring River and became submerged.
Perez was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
