Resurfacing project on Route 60 in Newton County to begin next week

Resurfacing Project on U.S. Route 60
In Newton County Set to Begin Week of July 6
 
Newton County - Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on U.S. Route 60 in Newton County for a resurfacing project beginning the week of July 6, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will lay new asphalt on a nearly 24-mile section of Route 60 from the Oklahoma/Missouri state line to Missouri Route E in Granby.
The project also will replace guardrail in areas. 
Drivers should obey flaggers and wait for pilot cars to guide motorists through the work zone.
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

  • Lane closings/one-lane traffic
  • Delays expected
  • Both daytime and nighttime work
  • Flaggers, pilot cars directing traffic in areas
Project Information
  • Prime contractor: Blevins Asphalt Construction Co., Mt. Vernon
  • Total cost: $3.8 million
  • Completion date: November 1, 2015
