Three Diamond residents injured in crash involving Fire Department vehicle

Three Diamond residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident 2:52 p.m. Monday on Route V, four miles west of Diamond.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a Diamond Area Fire Protection, vehicle, a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Roy D. Towe, 43, Diamond, was responding to a call with lights and siren activated. As the vehicle was passing a 2008 Ford Escape, the driver, Theresa M. Taylor, 85, Diamond, made a left turn and the Towe vehicle struck the Taylor vehicle on the driver's side door.

Taylor, Towe, and a passenger in the Towe vehicle, Gordon E. Skogsberg, 66, Diamond, were treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
