East Newton R-6 April meeting information provided

As part of the continued efforts in keeping the patrons informed, the East Newton R-VI Schools administration will provide monthly information concerning Board of Education meetings.

A recap of the April, 2016 regular meetings is as follows:

Prior to the Regular Board Meeting the EN School District Re-organized the Board of Education. Superintendent, Todd McCrackin and the remaining Board recognized Mark Knight and Keith Guinn who will no longer be serving on the Board. New Board member Judy Harper and Julie McGill were sworn in as the two new Board members.

Recognitions: Patriot Pride Award – Emily Sorrell, student at the high school; Kathryn Charlton.

Public Comments: None

The Board approved the Consent Agenda, including the previous month Board minute and monthly bills.

Program Evaluations: P.A.T. Program, RtI Program, and CCTEC Program

Reports:

Financial Report, Enrollment

Enrollment & Attendance for the end of March. Enrollment was 1,343 K-12, down fifteen students from February. Triway campus with 376, Granby campus with 518, and the High School with 449. Overall attendance percentage was 93.2

Under Old Business, Nothing

In respect to New Business, the Board approved the recommendation to cover $450 of the base plan for employee insurance through MET. Opaa! was approved to provide summer school lunch which will run from May 23 to June 17 for a total of 19 days. The Board declared items for surplus property, mobile classroom located at Granby. The Board next declared the Bond Issue election results accurate. The Board then heard the first reading on two Board policies up for revisions. In final Board action, the Board approved an amendment to the current budget.

The Board then went into Executive Session pursuant to RSMo. 610.021: Paragraph 3 Employees

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday May 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Central Office.
