Roundabout at intersection of 60 and 43 near Seneca to open Tuesday

(From MODOT)

Drivers traveling through the intersection of U.S. Route 60 & Missouri Route 43 in Newton County south of Seneca will pass through a new roundabout beginning Tuesday afternoon, October 18, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews began work to construct the single-lane roundabout the week of September 6.

Traffic will be shifted into the new roundabout configuration to allow crews to pour concrete for the inner truck apron.

Additional paving remains to be done to complete the roundabout over the next couple of weeks. Drivers should expect daytime lane closings. Flaggers will guide traffic through the work zone.

The new roundabout replaces a four-way stop configuration with stop signs and flashing red signals at the intersection. The project also includes installation of street lighting.

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
