JFD extinguishes fire at Adele Apartments

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 215 N. Sergeant on Thursday, 01 December, at 5:01 PM. 

The first crew arrived at 5:06 PM and found a two-story multi family dwelling (Adele Apartments) with heavy smoke and fire coming from the second story. Fire crews made a quick attack on the fire and were able to confine the fire to the apartment of origin. The fire was brought under control at 5:22 PM and completely extinguished by 6:06 PM. Crews did primary and secondary searches of the apartment complex and found all residents were accounted for.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting crews.

The fire department responded with 7 apparatus and 20 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.

The fire was investigated by the Joplin Fire Marshal. The cause of fire was determined to be combustibles left near an unattended stove.
