Escaped McDonald County inmate captured

Escaped Inmate Virgil Jay Potarf has been captured and is back in custody. Thank you to all that assisted.

Earlier news release

Inmate Virgil Jay Potarf walked off of a work detail tonight (Tuesday, January 3) around 7 p.m. from the detention center.


Potarf has a history of assault while he is intoxicated and has a history of alcohol and drug abuse.

Potarf has friends and family all around McDonald County.
