As part of the continued efforts in keeping the patrons informed, the East Newton R-VI Schools administration will provide monthly information concerning Board meetings.
A recap of the February, 2017 regular meetings is as follows:
Patriot Pride recipients were the Owen Blake and Stella United Methodist Church.
Public Comments: None
The Board approved the Consent Agenda, including the previous month Board minutes and monthly bills, and substitute teacher list.
Program evaluations for the month of January included Health and Wellness Program.
Under reports FCCLA representatives Megan Sanders and Brandon Jordon presented information with regard to their FCCLA Legislative shadowing in Jefferson City. A financial report was given for the month of December and enrollment numbers were presented. Total enrollment on the last day of October (K-12) was 1,324 students. Attendance overall for September was 94.7%.
Under Old Business, the board approved Opaa! Food Service Contract. The Board then tabled MSBA policies 2016C. Finally, had first reading of policies 2016D.
In respect to New Business, the Board approved 2017-2018 School Calendar as voted on by the staff. The Board approved the third revision to the current budget. Finally the Board approved the Math Textbook purchase plan.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 14 at 5:30 p.m. at Central Office.
