Two films and a celebration of Ice Cream Day are among the activities planned at Missouri Southern State University the week of Feb. 6.
Tuesday, Feb. 7
Ice Cream Day Bingo: 12:20 p.m., Lion’s Den. Students can test their bingo skills while enjoying some delicious ice cream.
“Selma”: 6:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre in Billingsly Student Center. The historical drama set during the height of the American civil-rights movement depicts the marches from Selma, Ala., to the capital of Montgomery to secure voting rights.
Thursday, Feb. 9
Starting a Small Business-The First Steps: 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Plaster Hall. Training for people in the community looking to start a business. Cost is $29 per business. For details, call 417-625-3128.
“The Edge of Seventeen”: 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. Phelps Theatre. This movie is about a girl’s struggles and challenges as she navigates her way through high school. Free for the campus community.
Men’s and women’s basketball: At Southwest Baptist: Women tip off at 5:30 p.m. Men tip off at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 10
“The Edge of Seventeen”: 6:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre.
Saturday, Feb 11
Men’s and women’s basketball: At Central Missouri: Women play at 1:30 p.m., the men at 3:30 p.m.

“Everything is Sacred, Nothing is Sacred and Other Modern Allegories”: Through Feb. 15 in Spiva Art Gallery. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
