University of Missouri Extension will host a hands-on learning experience about the health benefits of eating the "Med-Way" at the Pineville Community Center on Jesse James Road from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 29.
"Participants will have an opportunity to learn the basics of a proven healthy eating pattern, one that is recommended by the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans. We will also practice cooking a Mediterranean-style meal together," said Nutrition and Health Education Specialist Lindsey Stevenson.
Some health benefits of the Mediterranean-style eating pattern include a reduced risk for heart disease, diabetes, obesity and even some cancers.
The cost of the class is $15 per person, and you must pre-register to attend.
To register, for ADA accommodations, or for further information, contact Lindsey Stevenson at 417-682-3579 or stevensonlk@missouri.edu
