Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision 12:30 p.m. Suday on Layton Hollow Road, four miles south of Rocky Comfort.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Yamaha WR250 driven by Dalton T. Horn, 18, Exeter, (pictured) and a 1996 Yamaha YZ250 H1 driven by Alex W. Brannum, 29, Russellville, Alabama, collided, ejecting both drivers.
Both drivers were airlifted to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, where Horn was pronounced dead by Dr. Buchele at 2:09 p.m. Brannum was pronounced dead by Dr. Buchele at 4:43 p.m.
The fatalities were the 49th and 50th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
