Teen killed in two-motorcycle crash, two airlifted to Freeman

An Exeter teen was killed in a two-vehicle collision 12:30 p.m. today on Layton Hollow Road, four miles south of Rocky Comfort.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Yamaha WR250 driven by Dalton T. Horn, 18, Exeter, (pictured) and a 1996 Yamaha YZ250 H1 driven by Alex W. Brannum, 29, Russellville, Alabama, collided, ejecting both drivers.

Both drivers were airlifted to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, where Horn was pronounced dead by Dr. Buchele at 2:09 p.m. Brannum was treated for serious injuries. Due to the extent of those injuries, he was not tested for alcohol, according to the report.

The fatality was the 49th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
