Jasper County Sheriff's Office arrests Butler man for Crawford County vehicle theft

On November 12, 2017 at 1:05 a.m., Crawford County Deputies were dispatched to 1122 S. 200 Street regarding a suspicious vehicle and vehicle theft. 

A 2006 Dodge Ram truck was located at the address that was previously reported stolen in Frontenac, KS. A 2004 Ford F150 truck was missing from the residence and was entered as a stolen vehicle. Another vehicle located at the residence had been entered and items taken from it.

Later in the morning at 8:23 a.m., Deputies were dispatched to 1262 W. 510 Ave for another stolen vehicle report. The 2004 Ford F 150 truck was located at that address and the homeowner’s 2016 Chevy Malibu was missing. Another vehicle in the drive had been entered and was missing items.

OnStar was contacted and the Malibu was located in Asbury, MO. Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and they were able to locate the vehicle after OnStar had disabled it. Jasper County made contact with the suspect in the vehicle at US 171 Hwy and Pine Street in Asbury. Kyle Boulais, 20 from Butler, MO was taken into custody.

Items in the vehicle tied Boulais to the other vehicle burglaries at the scenes as well as items reported stolen from a Cherokee County burglary.

Boulais is being held at the Jasper County Jail. Kansas charges will include: Vehicle Theft; Theft; Burglary. Additional charges are pending.
