Joplin man killed after being run over by his own car

On 11-1-2017 at 4:10 p.m. our officers were dispatched to Mercy Hospital for a male that had arrived in critical condition. His wife reported that he had been run over by his own car at their residence at 3809 South Norman Drive.

Officers responded to the residence and investigated. It is believed that the victim had pulled into his driveway and exited the vehicle to get the mail at the mailbox. The vehicle then struck and or ran over the victim. The victim, Thomas P. Moss, 89, was later pronounced dead at 1:55am on 11/02/2017. The incident is under investigation.
