On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, Pittsburg High School administrators were made aware of a threat located in a textbook.
Administrators immediately began working with the Pittsburg Police and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Departments to conduct an investigation. The person responsible has been identified and the threat was deemed not credible.
“The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority,” Pittsburg Community Schools Superintendent Destry Brown said. “Any threat against our students or staff is taken seriously and is not tolerated.”
In accordance with the school handbook, students who make threats will be subject to discipline up to and including suspension or expulsion.
