On December 15th, 2017 at approximately 10:30 p.m., one of our officers was traveling southbound on Highway 37 following a vehicle also headed southbound.
Upon running the vehicle's license plate with a 2017 expiration, its return stated "NOT ON FILE". The officer initiated a traffic stop.
Upon some mutual conversation, the vehicle is determined that they had not placed their 2019 Expiration stickers onto their vehicle. The officer ran the female driver who was on probation and parole for felony drug charges.
The officer requested the male passenger's information. The male passenger had several warrants from Webb City, Mount Vernon, Monett, and Jasper County. The passenger was arrested.
The officer was given consent to search the vehicle and found underneath the male passengers seat whom was arrested: 3 - clear baggies which field tested positive for methamphetamine, 1 glass vial which field tested positive for methamphetamine, 2 needles, and a marijuana grinder. The male subject stated they were his.
Charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia were sent to the Prosecutor.
