Missouri Southern Delta Pi Chapter receives national award

(From Southern News Service)

The Delta Pi Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order at Missouri Southern State University has, for the second year in a row, received the national Samuel Zena Ammen Award.

The award is given only to the top 10 percent of KA fraternity chapters in the United States. There are currently more than 125 active chapters. The Missouri Southern chapter was the only institution to receive the award in the Chiles Province, which consists of Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.

The Delta Pi Chapter also received the Excellence in Chapter Operations Award for receiving an A+ rating during their annual evaluation by the national office; a Service Hours Award (60 hours per member); and the Excellence in Philanthropy Award (more than $200 per member).

“The Kappa Alpha Order at Missouri Southern produces top quality men,” said Eli Moran, coordinator of student life. “They continue to represent the university well every year.”
