Joplin woman arrested on felony meth charge after crashing into tree

A Joplin woman was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine after a one-vehicle accident 10:30 a.m. Sunday on County Road 260, two miles north of Carl Junction.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1992 GMC Sierra driven by Chelsea D. Garcia, 27, Joplin, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Garcia was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin,
