Jasper Police traffic stop leads to arrest of Golden City woman, Lamar man, confiscation of meth

Possession of Meth Drug Arrest

On Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 at 1340 hours, A Jasper PD Officer initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Main and Mercer St., Jasper, Missouri, on a black Dodge Ram pulling a black trailer with no tag visible.

Contact was made with the driver, Crystal Winningham of Golden City, and the front passenger, David Taylor of Lamar.


While speaking to Winningham, the officer smelled a strong smell of intoxicants coming from the vehicle, and also observed what appeared to be an opened can of beer inside. Winningham has a past history of alcohol-related arrests, and drug related arrests, one including a 2018 arrest in Jasper for Possession Of a Controlled Substance.

A search of Taylor’s person and pockets was conducted. A plastic baggy with a white powder substance was found in his pocket, along with a straw cut for narcotic use. An open 12 ounce can of beer was found in the vehicle during a search. 

Winningham was arrested for open container of alcohol while driving and Taylor was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Note: Both Taylor and Winningham are considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
