Joplin police officer aids Seneca Police in capturing suspect wanted for assault, traffic violations

We would like to thank Sgt Haynes with the Joplin Police Department.

Last night, 10-16-18, Officer Thiel stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. While Officer Thiel was checking the driving status of the driver the passenger exited the vehicle and began running north on 43 Highway. 

As Sgt Haynes was driving by he noticed the suspect running from Officer Thiel. 


Both Officer Thiel and Sgt Haynes apprehended the suspect approximately 1/4 mile away from the initial car stop. 

The suspect, Toby Myers, was wanted for:Driving While Suspended (out of Jasper County), Domestic Assault, Driving While Suspended and Seat Belt violation out of the Joplin Police Department.
