So you want to be a Baxter Springs police officer

We are looking to fill 2 full-time Police Officer positions and a part-time Communication/Judiciary Assistant position.

Full-Time Officer starting pay:
Not Certified-$14.00 hourly
Certified-$15.00 hourly

Officers will be expected to work 10 hour shifts/four day work weeks. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Valid drivers license, pass an extensive background check, physiological exam, drug screen and be of good moral character.

Part-Time Communication/Judiciary Assistant
Starting Pay: $12.35 hourly

Duties include but not limited to:
1. Answer phone calls in a polite and courteous manner.
2 .Dispatch officers, fire and ems to calls whenever necessary.
3. Works cordially with all personnel within the police department, municipal court and outside agencies.
4. Supervise receipts, deposits and accounting of money for fines.
5. Coordinate matters with judges, defendants, attorneys, police and the jail.
6. Respond to phone calls and written inquiries.
7. Schedule court hearings.
Among other duties.
