-Request a specific delivery date and time from the shipper when you know you will be home
-Have packages delivered to a place where they can be received in person, such as a neighbor's house who is home during the day
-Request the shipper hold the package at its pick up facility so that you can pick it up in person
-Provide delivery instructions to the shipper so the package can be left at a safe location at your home not in view of the street
-If your employer will allow, have your packages delivered to your work
-Consider a surveillance camera at your home
-Report all suspicious persons or vehicles in your neighborhood to the Joplin Police Department
