Holiday event, "Dog Days of December," scheduled at Joplin Public Library

(From the Joplin Public Library)

Joplin Public Library (JPL) will host a special celebration from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11. Beginning at 4:00 pm, the therapy dogs from the Dog Day Afternoon program at JPL will be at the library dressed for the holidays and ready for photo opportunities!

Not interested in pictures? Then join us for a reading activity. All children ages fifth grade and under will be welcomed to pet the dogs, practice informally telling them stories or reading, or just making some new, furry friends. At 5 p.m. Mrs. Claus will be reading stories in our Storytime Room. Cookies will be available to children after stories are read.

Throughout the program children will have the opportunity to help decorate the Children’s Department Christmas tree with homemade crafts and ornaments.

This program is appropriate for families with children 5th grade and under. We hope to see you there!

For more information on this and other events at the Rosemary Titus Reynolds Children’s Library at Joplin Public Library, please contact Tammie Benham at 417-623-7953.
