Ninth annual Seasonal Choral Flourish set for Friday

(From Southern News Service)

The ninth annual performance of “A Seasonal Choral Flourish” will be presented on Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 812 S. Pearl Ave.

The performance will begin with a pre-concert at 7 p.m. on both nights, and will feature the Missouri Southern Trumpet Ensemble and Brass Quintet. The main event will start at 7:30 p.m., and will feature the Missouri Southern Chamber Singers, Madrigal Singers and Concert Chorale.

“It is going to be an exciting concert full of familiar holiday tunes, carol singing and classical music selections appropriate for this festive time of the year,” said Dr. David Sharlow, MSSU Director of Choral Music. “Folks should also get there early because seating will be limited, especially on Friday night.”

The pre-concert will be conducted by Freddie Green, MSSU assistant professor of music, with the main concert conducted by Sharlow. Both will be assisted by accompanist, Glenda Austin.

Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
