Man slumped over wheel at car wash at 7th and Maiden Lane arrested on DWI, felony meth charges

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Incident Spotlight

This morning at 3:01 a.m. an officer was on patrol at 7th and Maiden Lane and saw a vehicle parked in a car wash stall with its turn signal on and nobody outside of it.

Due to the temperature being too low to wash a vehicle, the officer pullled up to check on the vehicle. She found the male driver slumped over behind the wheel.

After alerting the driver to her presence and he just staring at her, the officer opened the door. The officer could smell alcohol and see a meth pipe on the floorboard.

The driver was arrested for DWI and possession of drug paraphernalia. The officer also found 24 grams of meth in the vehicle, resulting in felony drug charges.
