Carthage Technical Center to celebrate Career and Technical Education Month

(From the Carthage R-9 School District)

The Carthage Technical Center will be honoring Career and Technical Education Month® throughout February with a variety of events.

CTE Month® is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country. Career and Technical Education directly prepares students for high-wage, high-demand careers across many fields, including health care, information technology, advanced manufacturing, construction, agriculture, engineering, culinary arts, and many more.

“Career and Technical Education provides students with hands-on learning experiences showing the relevance and importance of both academic and technical skill training," said Holley Goodnight, Carthage Technical Center director.

"CTE educators work closely with workforce development agencies and business and industry leaders to help sustain a skilled workforce in Missouri. The Carthage Technical Center strives to graduate students who have the industry skills necessary to make an immediate impact in the workforce and be contributing members of our community. It is our goal to prepare students for high-skill, high demand careers, and to be successful in their post-secondary educational endeavors."

Carthage Technical Center serves Carthage, Webb City, and Carl Junction High Schools. We also offer postsecondary and adult programs for local residents. Our motto is “Making the Future Work” and our goal is to train our students to be successful in a career. We are excited to share with you throughout the month all the great benefits to CTE and the great things we do at CTC.
