Guided bison tour scheduled at Prairie State Park

(From Missouri State Parks)

The prairie in winter can be a great place for solitude. Join staff for a guided hike at 1 p.m., Feb. 2, to see what the prairie has to offer this time of year. Don’t forget your camera! Be prepared for a two-mile hike over uneven terrain.

Bringing water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Binoculars will be useful for looking at bison as well as other wildlife that may be out and about. Dress for the weather, as the prairie winds can be cold this time of year. Please call 417-843-6711 to register for the hike.

Prairie State Park is located at 128 NW 150th Lane, Mindenmines, in southwest Missouri. For more information, please contact Prairie State Park at 417-843-6711.
