Highway Patrol releases results of commercial vehicle safety operations in Jasper, Greene, Lawrence counties

Captain John Enderle, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program enforcement operations in Greene, Lawrence, and Jasper counties on January 16-18, 2019.

During the operation on January 16 in Greene County, troopers stopped 28 commercial vehicles and 14 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 24 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in one driver being place out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Felony Drug Arrests -- 2 (115 lbs. of marijuana)
Nonmoving Violation -- 1
Speed Violation -- 1

Troopers also issued 52 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.



During the operation on January 17 in Lawrence County, troopers stopped 26 commercial vehicles and 22 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 25 commercial vehicle inspections. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Seat Belt Violation -- 1
Child Restraint Violation -- 1
Nonmoving Violation -- 1
Driving While Suspended/Revoked Violation -- 1
Drug Violation -- 1

Troopers also issued 49 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.




During the operation on January 18 in Jasper County, troopers stopped 24 commercial vehicles and 23 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 21 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in one driver and one vehicle being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Speed Violations -- 2
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest -- 1
Commercial Vehicle Violation -- 1
Other Hazardous Moving Violation -- 1
Nonmoving Violations -- 2

Troopers issued 50 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.
