Granby man killed in pickup-horse collision on 86

A Granby man was killed in a pickup-horse collision 6:20 p.m. today on MO 86, five miles east of Neosho.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Dodge Ram driven by John M. Johnson, 49, Stark City, struck a horse ridden by Keith Hopper, 49, Granby, in the roadway.

Hopper was pronounced dead at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, by Dr. Dalton.

The fatality was the sixth this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
