Joplin woman charged with DWI after crashing into two light poles

A Joplin woman was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 2:10 a.m. today on MO 43, one mile south of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2018 Ford Focus driven by Kayla N. Sause, 26, Joplin, ran off the roadway and struck two light poles.



Sause was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital.

In addition to the DWI charge, Sause was cited for careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, no insurance and failure to register motor vehicle
