On 1‐28‐2019 at approximately 6:27 AM an ambulance was summoned to the Jasper County Detention Center in Carthage for an inmate having a medical emergency.
Upon arrival, EMS and fire personnel took over CPR efforts being performed by the jail staff.
It was determined that the inmate, Thomas P. Webb, 49, of Joplin, was deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates the cause of death to be natural causes. The next of kin has been notified. An autopsy is scheduled for 01‐29‐19.
