Sarcoxie Police arrest Joplin man on DWI, speeding charges

(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)

On January 19 at 9:29 p.m., two of our officers initiated a traffic stop 14th Street and Joplin Street. The vehicle was traveling 60 miles per hour in the 35 mile per hour zone.

Contact was made with the driver, Cesar Arreola out of Joplin. While one officer was speaking with the driver, the other officer noticed that there was an empty beer can in the back seat.

Arreola was asked to step out of the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests (on a safe, dry surface of course). After performing the fields roadside and at the station (out of the cold), Arreola was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.

He was transported to the Jasper County Jail. Arreola was cited for DWI and for the 60 in the 35.

Note: Arreola is innocent until proven otherwise by the courts.
