According to the Highway Patrol report, William J. Simmons, 56, Stella, walked into the side of a trailer being pulled by a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Carl W. Sampson, 49, Grove, Oklahoma.
Simmons was taken to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, with serious injuries.
