Jasper Police stop nets arrest, drug paraphernalia, clean urine

(From the Jasper Police Department)

On Friday, February 7th, 2020 at around 1700 hours, a Jasper PD officer stopped a silver Honda passenger vehicle on I-49 southbound at the 65.0 mile marker. The vehicle was first spotted in Jasper on 6th St.

Contact was made with the driver, David Smith (Diamond), the front passenger, Virginia Davidson, the back passengers, Chuck Blevins and Karena Danner.

A search of persons and the vehicle was conducted. A used syringe used for injecting methamphetamine was found in Smith’s front left pocket. A medicine bottle with a liquid inside that Davidson said was urine, was located in her purse.

Smith is currently on felony probation for possession of a controlled substance, and Davidson is currently on felony probation.

The probation officers are not going to like this report. Having urine in your purse is probably say’s somebody is using drugs and uses the “clean” urine when drug tests are given.

Smith was charged with possession of meth related drug paraphernalia. He is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Once again (how many darn times do we have to put this out there?)... Please do NOT possess or use or sale methamphetamine or any other narcotics in Jasper.
