Joplin man arrested on two counts of first degree murder for shootings at Bites N Pipes, victims identified

Detectives with the Joplin Police Department worked overnight and continue their investigation today.

The victims in this case have been identified as Toua Y. Lee, age 36, of Joplin and Chong K. Xiong, age 30, of Duenweg. Next of kin for both victims have been notified. 

The suspect taken into custody on scene has been identified as Raymund P. Badios, age 20, of Joplin. Charges are being sought for 2 counts of Murder in the 1st Degree, 1 count of Assault in the 1st Degree, and 3 counts of Armed Criminal Action. This is still an active and ongoing investigation and more updates will be released if they become available.

Previous News Release

On June 7th, 2020 at 11:42pm officers with the Joplin Police Department responded to 110 N. Rangeline Rd, Bites N Pipes, for a report of a large disturbance involving gunshots. 

Officers arrived on scene and located two individuals on scene who were deceased. Another person was treated for a minor injury. 

Officers currently have one person in custody. JPD Detectives are on scene conducting a death investigation.
