A Stella man was cited for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle injury accident 4:10 p.m. Saturday on Fairview Road five miles south of Stella.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 GMC Yukon driven by Tommy R. Eslick, 44, Stella, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.
A passenger, a 9-year-old Stella girl, was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Joplin.
In addition to the DWI charge, Eslick was cited for leaving the scene of a crash, a felony, no valid license, resisting arrest and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
