Carthage children airlifted to Springfield following ATV accident

Two Carthage children were airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries after the ATV in which they were riding collided with another vehicle 8:30 a.m. Sunday on Baseline, three miles southeast of Jasper.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a Taotao ATV pulled into the path of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Craig S. Spencer, 44, Liberal. The Spencer vehicle struck the rear of the ATV, ejecting Ethan A. Brouillard, 7, and Tanner A. Kahl, 11.

It was unclear which of the boys was driving the ATV.
