The deceased male was identified to be Chester J. Matthews, 57, from Joplin. An autopsy has been scheduled for 2:30PM today. The death investigation continues.
Earlier news release
December 6, 2016, at 4:34 AM, the Joplin Police Department responded to the report of a deceased older, white male near 17th and Iowa.
